i use the word “allowing” often in my classes. it’s something i picked up from one of my teachers. every time she would use it i loved the thought of not forcing, but allowing something to happen. “allow your knee to release away from you.” how beautiful - you just need to release and it will happen for you.
this is something i often forget in my life. i have a tendency to try to force things. partly a learned habit, partly a way to try to maintain control, and partly just forgetting that you don’t always have to put so much effort into it. sometimes you can simply move out of the way and it will just happen. everything from reminding a muscle to release, to moving on from a job that is no longer suited to you, to not getting upset about what life sends your way. allowing it to happen. allowing the release. no drama needs to be built up around it.
i live in between these 2 things. i used to live in the drama of everything and i am trying to live in the allowing. i’ve come a long way, but am still prone for drama many times. my focus for this week is to be aware of this in myself (especially the negativity i bring to things) and to allow these things to melt away from me and find the ease that is life.
