My apologies for not updating last week, but I was in Arkansas with my mother who was recovering from surgery. I thought I would have internet access in order to let you all know what was going on, but alas, my computer would not hook up to the web and I was not able to keep you all abreast of the situation.
My mother is doing well thank you for asking :-) It was a rough surgery and will be a rough recovery, but she is on track and the doctors are happy. And me, I am just so happy that I was able to be with her and support her on her journey. I must say it was harder than I had thought it would be. Both physically and mentally. She isn’t able to get up or down without help (slowly she is gaining it, but at first it was labor heavy), so helping move a body in and out of bed and a recliner and a kitchen chair, etc.... was physically demanding. And seeing my mother quite helpless was jarring. She is Miss Active. She is constantly moving and shaking and extremely independent, so to see her like that.... well it was interesting to observe myself. But very cool that I was able to maintain my emotions (until the end of the week when I lost it talking to my brother and husband). I was still feeling them, but not enveloped by them. I continue to grow with each emotional experience I go through. And I must say that I am a firm believer that Yoga helped me through it, both physically and emotionally. I even got my mom to meditate a few times with me to a DVD I got her secretly hoping she’ll do it when I’m gone. She loved it!
Anywho, what does this mean to the schedule. Well, although back from Arkansas, on Wednesday I will be going on my actual vacation I planned some time ago ~ Ireland/Scotland. So excited for my trip and a new adventure to change things up a bit and broaden my world. However, it does mean that minus one class tomorrow, I will not be teaching until the 3rd week of October. So hold tight and I’ll be back soon and back with my beautiful students!!!!
